It was still bucketting down with rain and I decided that my car couldn't take another trip around the road to the main cemetery so we had to walk the 1km or so to the tombs. I'd read somewhere that Cairn F had sixe sub-chambers (WOW!), so we headed off to that first. Oh dear! It might have six chambers, but the roof has collapsed and filled nearly all of the main chamber with rubble.
And we are now very wet!

Well, I was at Cairn E, so I had to wander over to F. On a day like today, with ultimate visibility, a clamber on to the top of the cairn is well rewarded. Sitting in the passage (on the rubble) it is possible to work out that it aligns with Cairn E and that the line of site heads towards Benbulbin. Last time I was here I couldn't even see as far as Cairn E!
I would love to see some care and attention paid to this tomb. If the rubble could be removed safely it would be amazing. I don't suggest that anyone tries to start this process as the orthostats would probably collapse from the pressure exerted by the cairn.
