This bullaun stone is now in the shallows of Vantry Reservoir, just south of Roundwood. It is only 200m from the other Knocktemple bullaun stone (see Knocktemple (County Wicklow)) and would have been alongside the stream that runs near to the latter.
Like the other Knocktemple bullaun this has a single bullaun/basin. The 25cm diameter bullaun is set towards one end of the stone's flat surface.
To see the stone properly a pair of wellington boots is needed, especially when the reservoir's water level is quite high. Care should be taken whilst wading to it, because the reservoir bottom here is simply exposed rock with many jagged edges.
