The Cloch An Phoill is a large flat stone with a hole drilled through it about 25 cms in diameter and like the notice next to it says was probably a holed door slab to a wedge tomb. It is still a most inspiring stone. Like all holed stones there are many myths regarding its healing powers. With this one, any ailing child passed through the hole is supposed to be cured within 24 hours.
The stone itself is worth a visit if you are in the area, if only for the fact that not many holed entrance slabs remain. I personally love this stone and felt it had a lot of energy.

Myself, Abbey and Chris all took turns in sticking our heads through the hole. Too much Red Bull?

It's been so long since I visited this site and it's such a great and unusual thing. I have passed it quite often recently and not managed to stop, so today I made the effort. As well as needing to take a GPS reading I wanted to take some better photos.

From Tullow take the N81 south. The Cloch An Phoill lies in a field to the right of the first driveway on the left after the second right turn off out of town. There is a gap in the hedgerow to allow access.
