This is not really a stone circle. It would have come nore under the same catagory as Castleruddery Lower (County Wicklow) - an embanked circle. However, it would have been twice the size of Castleruddery. It is truly massive. Sadly only one side now remains, that to the north.

As you walk around the emaining section of the perimeter you can see the bank with stones set on either side. Some of these are quite lovely. All lumpy and bumpy examples of the local limestone.

This monument being incomplete is a sad loss. At around 60m in diameter it would have been truly impressive.

It is the northwest quadrant that still stands. There are quite a lot of large stones still standing, some of which reach 1.5m tall. Amongst them is at least one very pitted orthostat, which is roughly at the west edge - perhaps a cardinal point marker?
