| Tinode 2 - Standing Stone |
These stones are ones that I have known about for some time, but they have only just appeared on the 2nd edition OS maps, so I thought I'd check them out. This is the easternmost stone of the two and is not as close to the road as it appears on the map, you have to wander up the hill a little to get to it.
Like the other stone here, it is 1.3m tall and tapers to a point when viewed from one side, so it is like a door wedge standing up. I was not at all convinced about their antiquity at first but rooting around in the longer grass revealed several lumps of quartz used as packing around the base of this one.
