| Killinaboy - Round Tower |
There are a couple of very interesting things here. On the west gable there is a large cross of Lorraine, reconstructed when the doorway it was over collapsed. Above a later door in the south wall is a very nice Sheela-na-Gig. This is still in quite good condition and relatively easy to see most of the carving detail.
Just inside this door, set into the wall extremely badly, is part of a column carved with a twisted rope pattern that ends with a tongue-poking, column-swallowing monster.

Just a quick stop off to have something to eat and to see the Sheela. Uta quite rightly said that its face is rather severe and stern.
I hadn't noticed on my last trip, but her right leg is damaged. The light today was perfect too. All the bits were easily identifiable.
