This has to be one of the finest locations in the whole of Monaghan, spoiled only by the proximity of field hedges, which obscure some of the wonderful panorama. The low, rolling hills surround the low rise upon which this ruinous tomb stands.
The remains of the 3.5m long gallery do have one surprise though. There are some of the the usual wall slabs in situ and a few displaced roof slabs lie, tipped into the centre of the gallery. A fine septal slab just sticks up above the grass, denoting where the gallery was segmented. The surprise though is the presence on three thin stones set perpendicular to the gallery down either side. These appear to be buttress type stone, which are usually only found at the rear of some wedge tombs.
