This is probably the best chance people will have to see a good sweathouse. This is because this is the only sweathouse in state care and an easy track leads the 250m from the car park, past a picnic area and down to the absolutely fabulous stream side location.
To one side of the sweathouse is a little well (now moved from its original position, probably for safety reasons), which would have been used like a plunge pool after using the sweathouse.
Access into the rectangular chamber is via a very tiny doorway, but a hole in the roof allows you to see ok once inside. Unfortunately, it allows you to see where all the idiots have carved their names on the stones that make up the inner walls. Perhaps this should teach us that it is not always a good idea to encourage folks to visit these places.
