What a walk it is to reach this place. Not a trek that should be made on a very cloudy wet day in October like I did! For the last 1km I was engulfed in and soaked by the clouds.
The Wicklow Way path here is very, very badly damaged. The peat bog is becoming so eroded that the bare rock is visible in many places. The authorities have now put down a boardwalk made from railway sleepers to try and stop the erosion. I don't think they'll reverse it, though. Unfortunately, the erosion has led to both the cairn and standing stone to be washed away. The Coffin Stone lies on the north west side of the mountain and is quite a walk from the peak.
It is extremely long and narrow, probably measuring 6m in length. It seems as though it was never really was lifted off the ground very much.

From Enniskerry take the R760 and then the R755 south. Turn off onto the R759 and park at O 169 074. From here follow the Wicklow Way. As the path reaches Djouce Mountain it turns sharply and heads north east. Just keep walking straight onwards and upwards from here.
