When I eventually found it I was quite surprised by its state. Although lacking its roof it is almost full height with just a little bit of lost stone work on one side at the top.
The door is 2m from the ground and gated, when peering through the gate it was not really possible to see if any floors still exist.
Being a town centre site it is very imposed upon by modern building making this not too pleasant a spot to visit, which is a shame because the tower itself is a good one.
