This amazing monument is really difficult to appreciate because it is scandalously unprotected from marauding cows in search of food, which have trampled the ground into a mud pit, thus making the brown, moss covered stones blend in too much.
It is actually a center court tomb, the west chamber of which is the most intact with one roof slab still (just) in place, while the poorer east chamber has several wall chambers missing and one fallen roof slab.
Most of the kerb of this 35m long cairn is still present and it is possible to make out the south entrance alleyway and the outline of the two northern subsidary chambers.
With a thorough clean up and some protection this could be a wonderful monument to rival many others.
