Visit Notes

Sunday, 31st March 2002

This is a fantastic stone and well worth a visit, but if you go to it do not be in a rush. The farmer will take you to it and tell you wonderful stories about the area which are wonderful. He is very keen and willing to show the stone to anyone that happens by to see it.

It now lies in a ditch, covered with branches for protection. It is a regular shaped block 1.4m long, 30cm wide and 15cm or so deep. The script runs up one side, across the top and down the other.

It lies at then end of a curious, half exposed structure that could be either a souterain or (more likely I feel) a wedge tomb.
