This great stone stands on a bend in the road like a sentinel.

It is around 3m tall and almost egg shape in plan. Although I can't really say much more the stone has left quite an impression on me due to its location and the tranquility around it ... shame about all the telegraph poles.

Due to cutting my trip a little short I was well ahead of schedule for meeting my friend, so I thought that coming here and to the nearby tomb (see Wateresk (County Down)) was a good plan. The lane by the stone was doing a very good impression of a swimming pool!

The main purpose at stopping here was to get a photo for scale and take a GPS reading. I managed to do both and get extremely wet doing it - bargain!
