Visit Notes

Sunday, 3rd February 2002

Will someone tell me why I came here? Will someone tell me why I didn't turn around and go back when I reached the SNOW!?

The whole of the top of Black Mountain was covered in a 5cm layer of snow and the clouds were enveloping it with what could only be malice.

Anyway, I found the cairn and really wished I had stayed by the fire.

Directions

Taking the N1 northfrom Dundalk proceed until you reach the last right turn before the border and take this road. Turn right at the first opportunity and keep following this mad one track road until the television/radio mast comes into view. Head for this and park. Walk around the back and head directly away from it south. The cairn is just 100m away.
