I have looked for this stone so many times I've lost count. Today I found out why I've never found it before - I was looking in the wrong place! I was (mis)following some directions from a book.
The earthfast bouder is a little over 1m high with a surface about 2m x 1.5m. There are just a handful of eroded cup-marks around the highest area of the stone's top.
The views are along the valley to the west up the valley and east towards Lough Dan, which is out hidden from site by the intervening slopes. The Inchavore River runs along the valley bottom to the north of the stone, but this too is hidden by the way that the fields between slope.
