The OS map has this townland down as Garranebane, but a sign by the gate into the field that this stone stands in says it's Gurranebawn. I'm trusting local knowledge and using the latter name. The sign also clearly states that this is private property and that there is no entry. However, you can clearly see the stone from the edge of the field.
It's dificult to be accurate from 75m away, but the stone looks to be about 2.5m tall and has a rectangular cross-section. It stands on a gentle northwest-facing slope overlooking Valencia Harbour and Cahershiveen just below it.
