Visit Notes

Sunday, 15th July 2007

These two new bullaun stones made stopping here on the way home al the more worthwhile. I assume that they were uncovered during the work that is being undertaken renovating the graveyard. At the time of my visit they were piled up at the base of the wall where it turns to head down to the holy well. Hopefully they will be moved and placed in a more sympathetic manner soon.

Both stones have a single basin, but the bullaun in one of them breaches the edge of its stone. Both stones are uneven and look as if they were once set into the ground, most probably next to the well.
