This is only a possible stone circle, but with so many other fabulous monuments on this hilltop it wouldn't surprise me if my hunch is correct!

I was walking back from Lugmore (County Dublin) and I couldn't find the spot where I'd crossed a fence, so I had to take a different route. I'm very happy that I did, because I came across these four stones and thought "wow!"

Three of the four stones are set in the ground still and the fourth lies roughly where I think it should do. Together they make a fairly good rectangle ... was this a four-poster?

I feel I have to mention that I saw a lot of shotgun cartridges lying around, so this may not be the best site to go and track down!
