At best this place is th remains of a barrow ... at worst it is field clearance. The stones are piled up, however, and are neatly arranged around the two trees within them. There is a massive stone at the edge of the field which makes me wonder why these haven't been moved.
This place is not marked on the OS maps but is known locally as The Fairy Ring.
