When you approach this tomb across the field your hopes are built up that you are about to see a really nice tomb. It is surrounded by a modern low drystone wall and the chunky capstone stands very proud of it. However, when you reach the tomb and look inside the enclosure it is a somewhat defalting experience. Sadly the capstone is simply sitting on top of a pile of rocks not a structure.
The capstone does look like a mini version of the massive capstone at Browne's Hill (County Carlow), though. This would have looked really impressive when it was intact.
