This took some finding! Looking for some small stones in a heavily wooded area is always difficult, but eventually I located the site. At one point I was just 30m away from it, but on the wrong side to see the cross slab: this is easy to miss even with GPS coordinates!
The site is most odd. A large slab lies on the ground surrounded on three sides by a low wall. Opposite the 'entrance' is a cross slab with a Latin cross in relief. This is about 60cm tall.
Just below the site is a fast running stream reaffirming the relationship between Brigid and water. Not too far away is St Brigid's Well and St Brigid's Headstone, but I was unable to locate these on this visit. I will be back soon find these.
The running water nearby and the tall trees overhead casting a dappled, subdued light all around make this a very special feeling place. People still apparently visit here as there was a tealight placed next to the cross slab when I made my visit. Despite being difficult to find this site is one that should be visited by all those that love tranquility and natural beauty mixed with their historic sites.
