Visit Notes

In the middle of Big Dog Forest are two tall ridges, one is called Big Dog and the other Little Dog. On the top of Big Dog is a large stone, known as The Giant's Stone. With the dog and giant links I can only assume that there is some Finn McCool legend attached to this area.

I didn't have time to climb up t the top of Big Dog, but the stone is clearly visible, sitting on the ridge's highest point, from the road to the south.

The two hills do look like a pair of lying dogs in a funny sort of way.
