This well is situated in the graveyard 50m south of the very ruined church on the west edge of Balscaddan.
A modern wall surrounds the well and a modern fence surrounds that. A very odd arrangement, but presumably done to stop people falling in to the 1.m deep water. The wall is teardrop shaped with the well in the rounded part and steps in the elongated bit, but the water level is so high that the steps are submerged.
