This 1.6m tall granite stone stands on a bit of salt marsh at the east end of Streamstown Bay, just 10m from the water. It is round-topped and squarish in section.

In the centre of the bay is a rounded island called Boolard Island which seems to fill the view. I sat for a while watching a heron (one of my favourite birds) strut through the mud at the water's edge and stab at fish. It's amazing how accurate they are: I think he missed just once in ten attempts.

As I left a group of German or Dutch people came to look at the stone and scared the heron (and me) away.
