Visit Notes

Sunday, 25th April 2004

Strolling down the hill towards the car a stone caught my eye. This was about 1m tall and standing up. When I reached it it appeared to be staning on the edge of a round reaised platform about 8m in diameter. A few other stones also stand around it.

Now I'm being cautious here by calling it a cairn, but it could be a hut circle ... it could be the remains of a stone circle! How good would that be!?

The platform is definitely man-made, because you can see loose stones packed around the base of the standing stone that first caught my eye. Another unrecorded monument to add to the list, I think.
