This is a wonderfully located bullaun stone. It is on the end of a north-westerly pointing spur with an amphitheatre style panoramic view. The hills seem to wrap around and protect this spot. It's very calming, despite being quite exposed.
The stone is earthfast and measures 1m x 60cm. It has two large bullauns in its upper surface around 25-30cm in diameter. One of these is fairly shallow and the other is a hemispherical.
I was walked to the stone by a local farmer, Seamus, who was very knowledgable about many local sites and local history. To him I say, 'Thanks'.
