Visit Notes

Sunday, 12th October 2003

I really wasn't expecting this one at all. I was walking between two tombs and I spied this one. It is set in the top of one of three mounds and I suspect the other two contain burials or even tombs too. They are definitely of a different make-up to the surrounding land because the vegetation on them is very different.

Like the other monuments around here this one is ruined. The main structural stones are heaped up and a single tall stone stands at the west end. Once again the views are great, with Lough Derg doing its trick of sitting on top of the opposite hillside.
