After seeing the state of the nearby court tomb ( Keerin (County Tyrone)) I was not hopeful about this one. I was even less hopeful as I parked close to where the tomb was alledged to be, but I got out and looked around the field (well the bog). Still nothing. So, I stood on the gate and saw a stone. A stone lying on the ground. Oh dear!
Still, each one needs investigating and so off I set. What a wonderful surprise awaited! Sometimes it's good to be optimistic.
The stone I had seen was indeed the capstone of the tomb, but it was not level with the ground due to collapse, but because it is embedded into the peat.
This really must be the tiniest portal tomb around. The capstone is just 90cm wide and 1 little over 1.5m long. It is set on top of top tiny pointed portal stones and a mini chamber. Due to being in a peat bog the chamber, which has been dug out is filled with water. Due to this water I can't say if there is a doorstone or not.
This is one very cute tomb and worth stopping by if you're in the area.
