This looks far more impressive on the map than it is from the ground. The field surrounding it is edged by an electric fence and most of the fortifications are not really visible from the road.

The site does look huge but much of this fort has now gone.

Directions

From Ballymore Eustace take the R411 and then the second right towards Punchestown. The Ring is on the left after about 2 km.
