What a sad site, and indeed a sad sight. This standing stone stands no more! I thought at first that this was the stone that is said to mark the burial place of King Dathi, the last pagan High King of Ireland - but it isn't. Phew!

The stone would be about 2.5m tall if re-erected.

IMPORTANT! This is not the stone that marks the burial of King Daithi. I was mistaken on my first visit.
