So, I'm passing through Monaghan on my way to Tyrone and I decide to stop off at all three of the portal tombs in the county. Stop one is this sad site.
It is trashed. It lies at one end of a copse, across one field. I got soaked, because the field with the tomb in had some very long, very wet grass growing there.
It now consists of just the rounded split boulder capstone and one portal or chamber stone, but it's very overgrown, so its hard to say.
The Magalithic Tomb Survey and one older OS map I have call this townland 'Corlkeanamaddy'. The newer OS maps omit the K, as does the Monaghan Archaeological Inventory.
