When you walk up the tarmac track from the picnic eare you reach a gate and a small bridge. As you cross this bridge you can see up along the stream to this delightful sweat house. The picture really is a beautiful one. The secrecy and seclusion of the site is very evident.
This is a box like structure built, not completely, into the bank 4m from a very attractive stream. It is just 1.4m tall and the tiny doorway looks very inviting. The colour of the stone and the lichen complement each other so well. Ferns grow all around it, giving an even bigger impression of fairy-ness.
The roof is gabled, with a strong stone beam across the centre going from front to back. Again I decided to stop and sketch a little, knowing that this was my last stop for the day. Again I was bitten excessively and had to abort.
