What a lovely free-standing sweathouse. This very tall example (over 2m) has a beautiful shape. Unfortunately, it is suffering from a bramble attack around its very tall doorway at the moment and the inside resembles a swimming pool. This meant that I couldn't really get inside this time, but I will be back and I will go equipped next time. Wellington boots and a flame thrower or something should do the job.
I cleared some of the brambles, but to do a good job would have taken a machete! Because of this vegetation my pictures don't really do the building justice, so do not be put off visiting it. This really is a great place.
One word though. Some recent building has made finding the site a little tricky. On the OS map it is quite some distance from any houses, but a new white bungalow has been built in the field infront of it. Fortunately, a good thick hedge pretty much hides this from you.
